WWE Monday Night Raw.....

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Hello everyone, it's Mackenize McAvoy tuning into today's blog post. Hope everyone is having a better week than this weather we have been getting here. It has been very rainy, and wet and cold. Fortunately this week has not been to busy for myself since last Friday I had 3 exams. Let me tell you, nothing is more rewarding than finishing the week and starting the weekend after a hard week of work, and studying.

Since I had such a rough week last week, myself, Jamie Young, Nick Harper, and Mitch Kaufmann decided to treat ourselves this past Monday, by going to WWE Monday Night Raw, which is wrestling entertainment. we got to relive our childhood glory days and see some of our favourite wrestlers today that night as well. down below is a picture of where our seats were during the match. we all had a very good time, and enjoyed the entertainment as well.

Also tomorrow is the beginning of October, it is only 30 days now till our first season game.

I hope everyone enjoys their Wednesday, and to everyone out there, just think it's almost the weekend!

Pumpkin Spiced Latte...

Hey there Devils fans, Daniel here again!
It has been a sunny month here in Fredonia but these past two days have been nothing but rain… so I guess it is fair to say that the summer is over and fall season with Pumpkin Spiced Latte and every other pumpkin thing that you Americans love is here. I am not too fond of this pumpkin culture myself but I am trying and tasting all these different kinds of stuff. This far, during my three years of being here, the only thing that I have tasted that I like is roasted and salted pumpkin seeds. Yesterday we had a good workout in advanced conditioning and I am expecting the boys to continue on this road and have an even better practice on the ice today!
I just want to give a quick shout out to my sister who turned 17 yesterday (28th). Grattis Hanna!!
Other than that I hope you guys enjoy this season because I will be trying more pumpkin stuff!

“Who needs the doubters?”

Eddie Cordero back on the blog here. School is really starting to ramp up with all the tests and quizzes coming around for all the classes. I’ve been making quite the home out of a little spot in the library for some study time. Just a little discipline for the classes goes a long way, and it just so happens that I got lucky enough on the tests for it to show in the grades. Just trying to get through another week in the classroom, but also with our work on and off the ice for the season which is coming up faster and faster. In a little revised saying from coach, “Who needs the doubters?” As long as we keep getting better and better everyday as a team, we have the potential to surprise a lot of people this year and I can’t wait to see what we can do.

31 DAYS!

Until next time Fredonia

Everyday in Fredonia is a good day.........

Well back in full fledge here in Fredonia.

It's been a month since we have been back so everything is very comfortable.  The fellas are looking good out on the ice and I can't wait for our first game against Buffalo State.  We have been getting better each day both on the ice and in the gym.  I am very excited with the group we have and everyone seems to be buying in.  School has been going well so far and am lucky to have a few of the guys in each of my classes.  Everyday is a good day here at Fredonia and am very excited for every new one.  It being my senior year I am going to take everyday in stride and make sure I don't miss out on any moment.  Tomorrow is Monday and that's one of the most important days of the week because it sets the tone for the rest of it.  Tomorrow will be a good day and am ready for whatever comes my way.

Until next time stay Blue Fredonia.

It is definitely "Sunny" Fredonia around campus..........

It is definitely "Sunny" Fredonia around campus right now, with both the weather be so nice it has brightened the mood of campus with everyone's schedule getting busier, there are a lot of smiling faces walking through campus.

For myself it hasn't been too bad yet, I just had my first exam on Monday, but I have been in the library most nights this semester so I know there will be more coming my way.  It has been nice to be able to find some nights to relax, as Wilkie was saying just hanging out and watching a movie.  We also have a dart board in our house, so I have tried to get back some of my skills since my 3 month hiatus from playing darts.

The excitement around October 30th is really growing in our room, everyone is getting ready and preparing for the first puck drop at Buff State, but we are all anxious for that first puck drop to come as soon as possible.

Until next time

....a nice little dinner and watch a movie.....

It's another beautiful day here in Fredonia.

I can't believe how nice the weather still is here. I am loving how warm it still is, mostly because it has already started to snow back home in Alberta.

But as we are reaching the one month mark of classes things are starting to get a little more busy. A lot of the boys have exams this week and it also seems that the whole school is starting to get sick. So tonight my housemates, Mitch Kaufmann, Taylor Bourne, Jeff Flagler, and I are taking it easy and having a relaxing night. We decided to stay in cook ourselves a nice little dinner and watch a movie. It was definitely a nice change of pace as I have spent the last several nights in the library. It's always nice to get away from the hectic lifestyle of a student-athlete so when we get the chance to relax we take it.

Well that's all for now folks, take care!

.....many key details still need to be addressed....

Kauf here, back for another post after a full month of school in Fredonia.

It's great to finally get back in a school work mode which I would take 10 times over before a 9-5 job like I had this summer, but as a senior it definitely hasn't taken much time to be head deep in presentations and papers which I'm sure our some of our freshmen are starting to find out.

In between being in class and in the library, the boys have started to make steps toward our debut October 19th with both coaches on the ice, but many key details still need to be addressed in the process along with the understanding that the SUNYAC season is short and how prepared we are come October 30th will dictate how hard, fast, and focused we can hit the ice with our eyes currently set on an opening win against our main rival Buffalo State.

Until next time, Go Devils!

Cheers,
Mitch Kaufmann

Looking forward to seeing snow????????????????

Hey Everyone!

Jimmy Morgan here with my first ever blog. I’m a freshman forward and beyond happy to be a Blue Devil this year! So far really enjoying my time here. With two years off for juniors and no school, It’s a little different getting back into classes, but it is starting to become pretty routine. I’m from Colorado so I’m actually looking forward to seeing some snow soon. Mostly because snow means hockey season is in full stride and I can’t wait for it to start! Counting the days down.

Have a good rest of the week!

Rancho Cucamonga, California’s own Mike Freeman checking in with blog #1!

Rancho Cucamonga, California’s own Mike Freeman checking in with blog #1!

Coming from the desert that is Southern California, one of my favorite things about Fredonia so far is the unbelievable weather we’ve had over the last few weeks.  Back home, the temperatures have ranged from 99-110 degrees Fahrenheit! People keep telling me, “just wait until the snow starts to pour.” While I’ve never experienced a good ol’ Western New York winter, being in California literally my entire life, I am sure that I am in for quite a shock. Let’s just hope this snowy winter won’t make me miss the heat and beaches of California too much.  But for now, I’m going to keep soaking up these beautiful days!

Until next time,
Michael Freeman

Hello Folks,

Freshman, defenseman, Jon Carlson here with my first ever blog.

Joining the Devils after 4 seasons of junior hockey where I played in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for the Winkler Flyers and Portage Terriers, and in the Superior International Junior Hockey League for the Fort Frances Lakers. I'm honored to be a member of the Blue Devils hockey club and very excited to get the season underway. Just over a month till our first game at Buffalo State on October 30th. The boys are getting pumped up and can hardly wait for that.

Hello everyone!

Freshman defenseman Ben Casale here checking in for my first blog ever.  Today's football Sunday so I decided to make the trip home and cheer on the bills with family and friends. Plus it’s good to get away after a tough week of classes.
The first four weeks here in Fredonia have been awesome, all the boys are great and I can’t wait until the season. Besides the piles of homework I love everything here and I’m very excited to grow closer to all the boys as the year advances.

Anyways that’s all i have for you today.

Black team comes out on top.........

After a week of classes, it is always good to start the weekend out right. What better way than a inter squad scrimmage right after class on a Friday afternoon. As it is routine to scrimmage every Friday, this game was a little more important. As a member of the dark team, we came out on top week one, but then fell short week two. As the series was tied up, everyone was ready to go in the locker room. The game was fast paced and chippy but proud to say team black came out on top 6-2. After the game, the boys got together for a team dinner. Safe to say it has been a great start to the weekend here at Fredonia

.....my new band of brothers......

Hey folks!

Eric Bogart here for the first, your newest addition to the goaltenders here at Fredonia!

That's me on the left with my boys Frankie and Sam,  along with Rose
Real excited to be here with my new band of brothers and get the season rollin'. Been a great few weeks so far getting to know the boys and skating a few times a week …and occasionally learning a thing or two in class. Last week we volunteered in the community by helping the elderly with chores around the house, my group helped a lovely lady named Rose edge her lawn and clean her windows.

Bigger news from last week though, my new kickers finally came in, hopefully they stop a puck or two this year, they seem to work well against a few of the boys so far, lets hope that carries over. Last night the boys came away with a huge victory in flag football so we're already off to a great start, gotta keep the undefeated streak going!

Anyways that’s all she wrote for me today!

Stay Classy,

Rosser and Macker hanging out in the Lounge.....

Woke up around 8:30 on this beautiful day and head over to the gym to get a nice lift in with the Mac.

Needless to say that kid is no stranger to the gym. After a solid back work out which I'll for sure be sore from tomorrow, we headed down to the Athlete Lounge to hang out with some of the other boys on the team.

Schauss excited to get going......

Hello everyone!

My name is Todd Schauss I am from Terryville, CT just outside of Bristol, CT. After three years of Jr. A hockey in Hartford for the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack I am extremely excited to play in my first NCAA game! After a nice mid-
week day off and a hard skate with the boys we will be holding a team meeting tonight to discuss some team goals that we will look to achieve this up coming season. One personal goal that I have for this year is to be as consistent as possible. It is so important with a short season that I bring it everyday. The fight for a playoff bid has already started. A team goal that I have for the boys is to finish on top of the SUNYAC. We need all 30 guys to bring it each and everyday to challenge one another and get better everyday!

Happy Birthday to Zach Pease and welcome to Fredonia......

My name is Zach Pease and I’m from Toronto, Ontario. Last year I played Jr. 'A' hockey for the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners. I have come to Fredonia to study Psychology and to play varsity hockey for the Blue Devils.

This is my seventh year way from home, and unexpectedly I was nervous thinking about starting my first year of university. I loaded my truck and I headed down to Fredonia solo. Upon arriving I unpacked, settled in and started my next chapter of my life. I am really enjoying my time at Fredonia. The hockey is faster and physical as compared to Jr. A hockey. It is a good challenge and I can truly say after a few days I was back to feeling comfortable. The facilities and the change room are great. I am quickly learning the importance of balancing my time. I am looking to balance my academics, my on and off ice workouts, and my social life. Everything in balance. Everybody on the team and on the campus are very friendly and very easy to get along with. Our team went to the men's soccer game Friday night and really like the idea that the boys put together of the Blue Crew ‘Athletes Supporting Athletes’. We had a great turnout for the first night. I am looking forward to see a good student section when hockey starts up!

After putting in a good amount of work Saturday morning with the Bingham's for our Senior Citizen Workday, I left to go to Toronto for two days to celebrate my birthday yesterday. It was nice to see my family and friends again for a short visit.

Thanks for reading. Can’t wait to step on the ice for the first game and get this year going. We’re going to have a good hard working team!

Sam loves it in Fredonia.........

Hello everyone, My Name is Samuel Wilbur and I am a transfer student athlete here at Fredonia. I'm from Saginaw, Michigan. I played my junior years of hockey in Ontario for two years. I transferred from Canadian University this year to be closer to home near family and friends.

So far here in Fredonia, I really enjoy the scenery and the way everything looks on campus. It is a very nice campus and easy to walk through for your classes and activities. I also noticed that the faculty and other students are very nice and easy to talk to. You can tell that the teachers have special care for their students and the way they relate the information in class. This past weekend I had the privilege to work with senior citizens and do tasks for them that they had us do that was a little to difficult for them to accomplish on their own. It was great to be with some of the boys in the community putting a smile on a citizens face just for a simple act of kindness. It shows that we here at Fredonia are not only serious about our school and hockey, but also giving back to the community. I am very excited for this year with the boy's and can't wait get the season started.

L to R: Eric Bogart, Frankie Hart, Rose Cerrie, and Sam Wilbur
The Fredonia Hockey team took to the neighborhoods this morning, reaching out to local senior citizens, and doing all sorts of odd jobs.
L to R: Marcus Ortiz, Mrs. Bingham,
Zach Pease, Mr. Bingham

Twelve groups of players went and performed yard work, window washing, and many other tasks in an effort to help out in the community.

Professor Thomas Bingham wrote, "Thanks again to you and to your players for all their hard work once again. Our back and front yards look like civilization again! Nice bunch of guys, and hard workers to boot. You can be proud of them!"

"The veterans on the team have been welcoming all the rookies with open arms"

Hey Everyone!

Freshman, forward, Dan Mainello here
checking in to my first ever Blue Devils
blog.

I will give you all a little background about
myself. I am a 1995 birth year from Troy,
New York. For those who don’t know
where Troy, New York is, its about 15
minutes from Albany, New York. Do have
to give a quick shout out to my friends and
family back home.

Really excited to be on the campus finally
after a long summer of workouts and
skating. Looking forward to the upcoming
season and school year. Actually glad to
start school again after my two years of
junior hockey with the New York Appplecore Club.

Had a great first day on campus with all the boys. I got pretty lucky with my roommate Nick
Harper. I walked into our dorm in Hendrix Hall room 309B and it was already set up with all the
essentials, 39 inch TV, PS4, Xbox 360, and a huge fan. The fan has been the most important
thing in the dorm so far because we have had nothing but nice HOT!!!! sunny days up here in
Fredonia.

The veterans on the team have been welcoming all the rookies with open arms. It's only
been about 3 weeks up here but I have already learned many things from the returning players,
and a couple Swedish words from Oscar and Daniel.

Can’t wait for the first game of the season!

-Dan

Harps represents as the mascot..........

Hey everyone!

Nick Harper here with my first blog post of the year! It's great to be back here in Fredonia to see all the boys again and to meet the new freshman. As I imagined, everyone is getting along and connected right from the start. This past Saturday we had our second annual Fredonia hockey golf tournament. My team consisted of senior Mitch Kaufmann, sophomore Oscar Gerhardson, freshman Jimmy Morgan, and myself. Unfortunately, we did not shoot as well as we wanted but did end up three under. There's a picture of Oscar and I in the cart.
This upcoming Saturday we have our senior citizen work day. It really is a great day as the boys help out local Senior citizens whether it's doing yard work, or just being able to hang out with them. I'm looking forward to doing a great thing for the community.

This past summer I had the privilege to work as a mascot for the Auburn Doubledays which is a single A baseball team located in Auburn, NY. It was a great experience being able to dance around and bring joy to the baseball fans. Speaking of baseball, I have to mention how well my New York Mets are doing. First place by 6 games at the moment and I couldn't be happier. I have to give a shout out to Younger, Mac and Oscar for letting me come over and watch the boys play! Here's a picture of me as the mascot Abner Doubleday.

Until next time,

Oskar signs in.............

Hi everybody,

Oskar Gerhardson here signing in for my first blog post of my sophomore year.

We are a few weeks into the fall semester now and I'm starting to get into some good routines again. It has been really nice to be back and see all the familiar faces and it has also been a pleasure to get to know the new freshmen of our team.

This year I'm living off campus which is a little different. One of the big changes is that I now have my own room which is really nice, we also have a better opportunity to cook some food ourselves since the food at school gets old pretty quick, that's a big plus.

Homework is calling so that is it for me this time! I'll leave you with a picture of the my Pink the Rink jersey from last year that is now hanging on the wall in our living from!

Thanks for tuning in,
//Oskar Gerhardson #9

Jamie on the golf outing and upcoming season....

From L to R: Jamie Young, Ryan Wilkinson, Kyle Jelinski, Luke Rivera
Hi there everyone, Jamie Young here checking in for the first time this year!

Well, it's been a good summer at home but I am happy to be back with all the guys gearing up for a great season ahead.

The past couple of weeks have been great getting to know the new freshmen, getting back on the ice with the boys, and setting into the new off campus house. A big highlight so far was the teams second annual golf outing this past Saturday. Being the only returning champion from last years tournament the pressure was on for myself but sadly, my group could not bring home the title. We still had a great time on a sunny Saturday!

The boys are looking in shape and are pushing hard during our workouts and skates to a great upcoming season. I can just tell, a storm is brewing in our locker room and I can't wait to see it unleashed come October!!

Well fans, that's all for now, hope you can beat the heat and have a good week here!!

My first few weeks here at Fredonia have been a blast......

Kyle Jelinski, freshman, forward from Edmonton Alberta Canada.

My first few weeks here at Fredonia have been a blast. From everything to my class's to hockey practice. I'm really getting to know the campus as well as the people here especially my teammates.

One of the highlights from the past weekend was the 2nd annual Fredonia Golf Tournament. I really enjoyed playing and in turn got to bond farther with my teammates. All round I've had a great experience thus far into the year.

Today marks the Second Annual Fredonia State Hockey golf tournament at Hillview Country Club.  This year’s tournament has been long anticipated by the boys after last year’s tournament, which was a great turnout.  By the looks of the forecast we are going to have a beautiful day to hit the links.  My group consists of Jamie Young, Zach Pease, and Shawn Geary.  If our golf games aren’t too hot we will for sure have a lot characters.   I would like to wish everyone luck and may the odds be in your favor.

That’s all for today folks, enjoy the Labor Day weekend.

Frankie still trying to learn all the names...

Hello blog World!

It's Frankie Hart with his first blog of the new semester! It's hard to believe it's already been two years since I was a freshmen. When they say these four years fly by they definitely weren't kidding!

I would like to give a warm welcome to all the new freshmen. We are on our second week of classes and I apologize if I don't know all your names yet. But to my defense I'm horrible with names and there's about 100 of you guys!

Classes have been going well so far, I'm taking psychology and philosophy which are not related to my Sport Management major but these classes definitely make you think twice about everything in life.

On a hockey note it's early but what's coming together on the ice in a Steel Hall is something special! I'm very much looking forward to skate and shoot here at 4 today. I must say Team Black might be a little much for Team White to handle, but we will see!

Have a great day everyone,

Frankie Hart #8

The Blue Crew is coming........

Hello all!

Junior, forward, Marcus Ortiz checking in for my first blog of the new year!!

We are just getting started and in the swing of things as we have completed week 1 of conditioning which concluded with our triathlon yesterday. The boys have already noticed a good chemistry with our new guys and it only continues to build.

In other news, my roommate, Hunter Long and I both received jobs as dishwashers at a local Italian
restaurant to help make a little extra money on the side! Tough to find a way to fit that into our busy schedule, but we find a way.

We also started something that we hope takes off soon and that is the new, Fredonia Blue Crew.  We will be attending sports around our campus and forming a rowdy, school spirit-filled student section, starting at next week's Women's soccer tournament! This is something we hope

Look for the Blue Crew next weekend! Till Next time!!
to get up and off the ground by the time our season starts!! A lot of good things on the horizon here!!

Gears excited to be back home in western New York.......

Hey everyone it's Shawn Geary here excited for the upcoming school year and hockey season!

Feels good to get back on the ice after a great summer.  Ready for hockey season to get going and also the football season.  I'm from Buffalo and a die-hard Bills fan.  College is a big change of pace from juniors so it takes a bit to get used to, but I'm enjoying it.

There's a lot of familiar faces all around campus from my hometown and its great to catch up with people I haven't been able to talk to in a while.  I spent the last two years playing hockey in Long Island, New York in the EHL and it was a great experience, but it feels good to be able to be closer to home and playing hockey. The atmosphere throughout campus is helpful, coming here everyone is very friendly and helpful, it's been great meeting new people and I'm excited for the years ahead!

Rich has the necessities for dorm living.....

Hey everyone,
Rich DeMarco here, still recovering from that triathlon. Felt good to get back on the ice last week for skate and shoot after a long eventful summer and meet the new teammates. This is my first time living away from home and the dorm life definitely takes some getting used to. Rooming with Ben made the transition a bit easier seeing that we grew up on the same street with some pretty intense games of street hockey.

Before today I have had no homework so I can’t complain about school work too much but I have a feeling that will change real quick. Just want to add this photo to show everyone the true necessities of a dorm room. Old school PS2 with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 and our dart board.
