Hunter coming in hot again for the blog this year.....

Hey everyone,

Hunter Long coming in hot again for the blog this year. I’ll be writing some good ones, so stay tuned. Anyway, hope everyone had a great summer vacation. Although for me, the word vacation seems to change meaning during that 3 month span. I work every day from 5:30 AM to between 2:30 and 6 every day. Tennessee’s summer heat is one for the books; if ya’ll haven’t experienced it consider yourself lucky. I’m also coming off shoulder surgery as well, and my shoulder is holding up just fine. I was blessed to have 2 of the best surgeons and rehab specialist known to man. They did everything they could possible for me to return to the game I love and while I was IR, I still managed to set a record for the worst and longest surgery he’s ever had in his career. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing but you have to find the positives throughout any rough situation you’re going through. Also while I have the microphone, big shutout to my parents who took care of me while I was in the trenches, love y'all a lot. While you are injured and you find yourself with a lot of down time, your mind starts to wonder and think about a lot of things. Sometimes things happen in your life for different reasons whether they are good or bad but I feel this surgery made me hit the refresh button in my career, and get back to the basics and just simply hard work, have fun no matter what, and have a positive attitude. I also think I took for granted that playing NCAA hockey is a privilege because all it takes is one shift or one bad night in town for that all to change. So going into every game this year my mindset will be a little different than it has in the past. Looking for a couple early wins to get the season rolling in the right direction.

FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK......

FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK
Hello everyone and happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and to all students a great first weekend!

It feels good to be back and see all the guys of the team and also meet all the new freshmen that are coming in this year. The first week went by pretty quick, and just getting settled into all my classes. fortunately for me I have Tuesday and Thursdays off, but that also means I have 4 classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Another thing that feels good to be back is that we are able to go on the ice this past week for open ice. It's nice to be on the ice consistently and getting all the rust out before the season starts in October.

This week has been very slow since its syllabus week, which means every class is just getting started and introduced, so most of the classes here do not have too much work going on which is nice to get settled in and relax.

Also I should mention I am very excited about football being back and the season right around the corner. since I live close to Fredonia and the Buffalo Area, so everyone can relate, I am a struggling Bills fan. I really do hope we have a great season this year and have a better season than last year.
Anyways hope everyone has a great Sunday and a relaxing one indeed after a hard working week!

Yours in hockey,

Danny talks about summer back home in Sweden....

Hi everybody, this is Daniel Martensson here again.
This summer went so fast. I went back home to Sweden over the summer to see my family and work. It was really nice, as always, to see my family again and spend some quality time with them. Since I am here nine months of the year, spending time with my family becomes kind of a priority over summer. When you only see your family over the summer you want that time to go by slow so there is as much time spent with them as possible. Even though I don’t see my related family during the winter months I am fortunate to spend time with what I consider another family that lives right here in Fredonia, NY. This is my last year and I am so excited for another fun year with my brothers!
I hope you enjoyed your summer too!
That is all for me for today,

Eddie and the guys in the dorm are living large......

Hey everyone, Eddie Cordero here on the blog today.

I’m one of the incoming freshmen this year, from California. The normal freshman year move in to the dorms really wasn't all that bad for me. I was able to get settled pretty quickly and just hang out until my roommate and suite mates got in. My roommate and I have a pretty great setup in our room with all the necessities like a mini fridge, microwave, Xbox with a TV, and the all important Keurig machine to help me out during those 8AM classes. I’m already really enjoying living with seven of my other teammates. They’re all real cool guys and I know we're all going to get close and have an unreal year.
As well as my suite mates, getting to know the older guys on the team has been a good time too. They already take all of us freshman under their wing and help us out with whatever they can. I really can't wait to start forming new, tight bonds with all the fellas and even more than that, I can't wait to get to work and go to battle with all the boys during the season. Being back in school is taking a little getting used to, but I’ll get back in the groove of things soon.

Until next time,

"Everybody ropes, everybody rides"

Hey
folks, Flagz back here for another year at Fredonia.

Unfortunately this
will be my last year so I intend on making it count. I am very excited to be
back at Fredonia with all of my teammates. This year we have a massive
group of freshmen so I'm excited to get to know everyone and form new
bonds. We were lucky enough to be able to get back on the ice Monday.
I was super excited as I was ready to get back at it, but also because I
got my new equipment and was able to wear it for the first time. I am
slowly getting back into the classroom setting and finding myself more
and more comfortable each day.

This year is going to be a great time and
can't wait for the season to start. The boys are back in town and are
ready to show people that we are better then our record showed last
year.

Till next time stay awesome Fredonia.

Bourney has homework piled on already....

It's been a bit of a whirlwind start here in Fredonia, with so many new faces around the room and being my senior year, but it has been great to see everyone again and the excitement in the dressing room for the upcoming season.

I think all the boys are adjusting to being back in classes well after having a couple months off.  I have had a couple classes start off pretty quickly with homework due today and Friday so it appears I will be spending time in my favorite cubicle in the library already. Before the library though Harps and myself are gonna get in a quick lift for the day and get a good sweat.  We have only had 3 days of classes so far and I'm already getting antsy for the season to start, its going to be an exciting year.

Wilkie and the boys practicing up for the golf tourney.....

It's great to be back here on campus and see some familiar faces. It's great to get back with the boys and catch up with everyone. I don't live very close to anyone in the summer so I've definitely missed getting to hangout with these guys every day. As this will be my last year I'll definitely be trying to take advantage of every day I have left, especially with this weather being so great it's kind of hard not to take advantage.

On Saturday of few of the boys went out to the local golf course to get in a little practice round before the 2nd annual Fred State Blue Devils Golf Tourney. And it looks like I definitely need the practice... I didn't shoot very well but we couldn't have asked for a nicer day.  It's a great way to bond with the boys.

Until next time

An excited Kauf says, "Welcome Back".....

Kauf here!

Just wanted to say hello to all the Fredonia Blue Devil hockey fans, friends and family and welcome back for the 2015/2016 season!

I think I speak for a lot of guys when I say that I'm excited to be back here in Fredonia with my fellow teammates. As most guys have arrived over this past weekend it has been great to catch up with everyone and listen and tell stories about our short summer adventures while getting familiar with the new fresh faces that will be in the dressing room. It seems as though we just left this place, but maybe Fredonia seems like home especially after spending the past 3 years living in the same house for 7-8 months out of the year.

As classes begin this week as well as our first ice times I'm sure most of the guys will have their plates full including myself as for most of my senior classes get right back to work. After a spring of a lot of changes with our group I cannot wait to get my final season started with a new beginning with our club, until next time.

Cheers,
