Everyone getting back into the school grind

Sophomore, Declan Gunovski wheeling around campus.

All the guys are getting back into the groove of things in the classroom, For most of the freshman it has been a while. For the returners it hasn't been too long but it still takes some time to get acclimated to doing school work. We will be trying to keep our streak going here with the highest men's GPA on campus for 11 of the last 12 semesters. Here is a picture of Declan Gunovski wheeling around campus.

It's great how the guys stay in touch over the summer

This summer former Fredonia State hockey player, Bryan Ross traveled from Detroit, Michigan to Saratoga, NY and met with some of the guys in their hometowns. I think it is awesome how we have such a great group of guys and how everyone stays in touch through the summer even though a lot of us live a pretty good distance away, and even in this case staying in touch with  former players. That shows how close-knit this hockey family is.

First Captain skate a success

Today we had our first Captain's skate and it was great to see everyone in the locker room and out on the ice. Everyone looked good for our first skate of the year. The colored jersey team ended up pulling out the W in the third period and it was great to get out there with everyone and take one step closer to the season. Mat Hehr continued his greasy ways with a couple of ugly goals. It was also nice to break in the new wheels. Tomorrow will be a better day and I am very excited.

Former Blue Devil Captain spends the day with the Stanley Cup

Former Blue Devil Hockey Captain and 2007 SUNYAC Champion, Scott Bradley recently had a day with the Stanley Cup.

Scott wrote,  "That’s Brad Richardson who brought the Cup to town. Good Belleville boy, who played in the Quinte program with me as well. Stoll and Doughty were there for it too. Just great guys who know how lucky they are.

"They had kids drinking root beer out of it and made time for everyone. The keeper of the Cup runs a tight ship though, and doesn’t let anyone who hasn’t won the Cup lift it. So Brad Richardson had to pour it for everyone."

"We had a ball hockey game at the old barn we used to play at downtown and it was just 'Richie' and I with the Cup for a minute in the locker room, that was my chance, I hoisted it and he snapped a quick pic. Felt great!  Hockey players are the best people in the world!"

Captain Muller excited to be back in town

Glad to be back in town and see all the boys, catch up, and help some of them unpack. I can’t believe I am a going into my senior year, time really does fly by. Everyone came back in one piece and looks good and refreshed from the summer.  Getting to see everyone and meet the new freshman is extremely exciting, and that excitement will just build until our first game in October. Everyone is pumped to get back onto the ice and get back in the swing of things in school and hockey as we get set to accomplish our goals for the upcoming season.
