Frankie hoping history repeats itself.....

Hello blog world, hope you've all been doing well!

I would like to start by congratulating all the boys on the black team (including myself) for the big comeback overtime win yesterday. Congrats to Slicky for the cannon of a shot from the point to win us the game in OT. I think what helped us yesterday was are strong defensive play lead by JD who played well on his debut as a defenseman (we only had 3 D so JD stepped up for us). Putting the
fun/competitive skate highlights aside, the tempo of our skates continue to get faster and faster. Our mind set this year is to have a good, fast start and everyone is buying into that plan. We are all anxiously awaiting the start of the new season, where we all expect big things from each and every one of us.

A few weeks back at are first organizational meeting Coach Meredith gave us the name and email of a former Blue Devil player who won a SUNYAC Championship. The alumni will be returning to campus to relive the great memories of their Championship wins in 1993-94 and 1994-95 along with their Frozen Four appearances. I was given #9, Peter Varrone name and email and asked him what it takes to win a championship. The next day he replied that it's an unbelievable feeling of accomplishment. To win something special with your hockey family that you battled with all year long is very rewarding.

Peter explained the one major thing that made his 1994-1995 team superior was the fact that is was always "WE". He explained that his team did everything together whether it was eating, studying or just hanging out. As a result he said they were the closest family he's ever been apart of and the bond they formed extends to this day.It was great hearing from Peter and I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet him.

On a different note, yesterday was my first day leading the Yoga/ Stretching session and it went very well. Moby needs a little work with the gluteus maximus stretch but that will come with more practice.

Bye for now,

Frankie Hart #8
