This year has flown by.............

These weeks seem to just be flying by.  I had just written a blog on Saturday and boy did this week fly by.  Its getting down to crunch time with exams just around the corner.  The last few weeks of classes are very important because teachers usually give hints of what is on the final exam as well as extra credit.  This year has flown by and I can't believe it is almost over.

This year taught me even more then last year both on and off the ice.  I became even more comfortable with my surroundings and was able to adapt to some new situations as well.  Next year will be my last year and it need to count both in the classroom and on the ice.  It will be a year of ups and downs and I wouldn't want it any way.  Looking forward to making long lasting memories next year with my teammates and most importantly getting the job done with them on the ice.

Till next time, stay golden.

Captains named.............

Hello blog world!

This is Frankie Hart with his last blog entry of the year. I can't get over how fast this year went by. I would like to wish all the seniors the best of luck in the next chapter of there lives.

I am very much looking forward to next year, with a positive attitude, we all have and a fresh start right around the corner and are all looking forward to next hockey season. I would like to congratulate Ryan Wilkinson for being named team Captain for next year, and also Bourny, Mitch and Hunter who will be the assistant captains!

On another note, it's crunch time in the class rooms with exams, homework and finals approaching very quickly. I personally had so much CSIT I've been glued to a computer for a bit longer then I'd like to be!

I hope everyone has a great end of school year as well as a great summer off. Looking forward to seeing all the returning guys next year!

Take care,

...the start of the end, with only two weeks left of classes ...

Today marks the start of the end, with only two weeks left of classes I can't believe how quickly this semester has gone by.  These next two weeks will be pretty busy for me as I have a couple projects due and a few more exams before Exam week.  Last night was a very exciting night in the NHL as the Blackhawks won their first round series against the Predators and the Flames closed out their series with a nail biter against the Canucks. Since the playoffs have started I usually find myself glued to the couch by about 7 every night which usually means I'm probably not doing as much homework as I should be, but with so many good games on TV its hard not to watch.   I hope the second round brings as much excitement as the first round has and with half as many games a night maybe a bit more work will get done.

Flags says, "Watch for players to finally break out of their shells and start producing like they can."

This week went by really quickly.  Fortunately for me I did not have any exams or test this week so it was a stress free week.

All of the hockey guys are in the gym working out hard and getting in great shape for the next season. School is coming to an end and boy did this year go fast.  I had a very good time at Fredonia this year and met a whole new bunch of people.  Next year will be my last year at Fredonia and I plan to make it count on and off the ice.  We have a big freshmen class coming in and I can't wait to see them on the ice.  Look for Fredonia at the top half of the leader board next year.  Watch for players to finally break out of their shells and start producing like they can.

Go Devils and take care,

"I can't wait to see what the 2015-16 season has in store for us but I know it will be good." Ryan Wilkinson

Hey there everybody, Ryan Wilkinson checking in here for my last blog of the year.

I'm not too sure what's going on with the weather here in Fredonia and why there's snow on the ground in April, but hopefully it turns around soon. On top of that the amount of school work I've had in the past couple weeks and will have to do till the end of the semester is getting a little crazy. This is definitely the most work I've ever had to do but I'm doing my best to make my way through it. But all of that aside the NHL playoffs are in full swing. This might be one of the best first rounds I've ever seen. The hockey is fast and aggressive with end to end action. This makes me want to get back on the ice already. Watching these guys battle it out is getting me extremely excited to start up next year. C

And with that I will call it a year, talk to you folks next year!

Mitch lands one.......

Mitch Kaufmann with his catch
Kauf here with my last blog of the season as things are starting to wind down in Fredonia as we are in the home stretch of the semester. With most guys so busy during the week you hardly see one another with exams just around the corner besides with a head buried in a book in the library. Many guys tend to different activities for a stress release during this time, but for me as of recent, it's been waiting for the fish to come up the creek! Finally, this week after 3 trips down to Dunkirk over the past couple weeks I was able to land one. Here's a pic of the little fella I caught.

Hope everyone has a great summer!

Cheers,

Calgary going crazy for the Flames......

Hi there everyone, Damo here to bring you today's blog.

Things are winding down here at school, as the last few weeks and finals are approaching. School work is ramping up and everyone is baring down in all their classes. While school is important we still need to keep on top of our gym routines and making sure we're ready for next years hockey season. Everyone's been working hard to maintain and gain a level of fitness. A routine that me and some of the other first year guys have had throughout the last few weeks is playing some basketball after our workouts. Myself, Nick Harper, Jamie Young, Oskar Gerhardson, Daniel Martensson and Marcus Anderson all take part in the post workout ball session. The three Swedes have never really played basketball before so the first few days were quite comical. Everyone has gotten a lot better! Although we're very average basketball players, we still have fun!

Another exciting aspect of life right now is the NHL playoffs! The first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs are always the best. With multiple games on each day and a very high competitive level of hockey I can't get enough. Every game has so much emotion and so much meaning it's really fun to watch, especially when the Calgary Flames are leading in their first round series.

Talking to family and friends back home in Calgary has me jealous. The city always gets crazy when the Flames make the playoffs and the atmosphere in the whole city is amazing! Exciting times to be a hockey fan! Well time for me to hit the court and show these guys a thing or two!

Until next time folks

What a great time of the year it is for hockey players and fans......

Hey everyone!

Nick Harper here and what a great time of the year it is for hockey players and fans with the NHL playoffs starting up. So far my Anaheim Ducks lead the Winnipeg Jets 2-0 in their series with back to back comeback wins. It's going to be hard to go on the road to play games in Winnipeg but I'm happy they have a 2-0 lead. Anaheim along with Montreal were the only two teams who had a series lead as of yesterday. The rest were all tied 1-1 and that's what make the playoffs so exciting, it's anyone's game. It's also awesome to see how well Blackhawks goalie Scott Darling is playing. It has to be hard being a back up and having to go in during playoff time while your starter is struggling. My prediction is that the Rangers are going to come out of the East and the Ducks are going to come out of the West. In the final I have to go with my favorite team the Ducks to take in from the Rangers in 6 games.

I'm also very happy to see that my favorite baseball team the New York Mets have been tearing it up. They are 10-3, with a nice 7 game win streak right now. I have to say it is quite hard watching them on TV however since my fellow teammates are Toronto Blue Jays fans so it's hard to take the remote from them.

I am heading into the home stretch here as my freshman year is coming to an end. It's nice seeing the sun shine and the warmer weather, but still have to stay strong in the classroom for a few more weeks. That's all from me folks have a good week!

only a month left until I fly home.......

Hi everybody,
This past year have been an exciting experience and the year is about to wrap up with only a month left until I fly home which also means that this will be my last blog post for this semester.
I just wanted to thank everybody for an amazing year and wish our seniors a good luck in the real world, wherever it will take you. It has been a lot of fun to play with you guys and hopefully we will see each other even after this school year ends.
I want to announce to everybody that the IM team Tighten-Up plays tomorrow night at 10 PM on the turf, and it is our last game before play-off.
I hope everybody have a great summer because I will!
Peace out,
Daniel Martensson

Jamie Young checking in for my last blog post of the year........

Hey there hockey fans,

Jamie Young checking in for my last blog post of the year.

It's been a heck of a freshmen year here at Fredonia and I couldn't have asked for a better one! I have met a ton of great people and bonded with my teammates better than I ever could have imagined.

The spring has been great for the team so far. With the sun finally starting to shine all the guys have been making great strides towards next year. Everyone has been working hard in the gym and together as a group to get ready for next year and all the new guys coming in.

Additionally, all of our intramural teams have been doing great this spring. To start off, our Basketball team rolled to a great record of 7-3 led by big man Melkert and hot hands Cappy. Next the two ball hockey teams are at the top of the co-ed divisions. Finally the soccer squad is off to a blazing 3-0 start and taking the league by storm! Spring has been good to all the guys and I'm excited to end the year on a high note!

Well fans, I hope every one has a safe and fun summer.

Until next year,

Oskar weighs in on IM Soccer.....

Hi everybody #9 signing in again for my last post before summer. Time is flying by here in Fredonia and we are all working hard in the classroom and in the gym.

The highlight of the past few days has been the beautiful weather and with it comes outdoor activities. The intramural soccer season is underway and a couple of boys on the team including me are doing our best out there to showcase our skills. I'm proud to announce that we are streaking. We are 3-0 going in to the last round robin game next Monday and then the playoff waits.

That's all from me for this time. Take care and I'll see for my next post in the fall. Have a good summer!

Palmy always on point......

As the week slowly approaches the weekend, I continue to sit in the library with Declan Gunovski to work on homework and studying while battling the everyday struggles of a sore body and the never ending desire to want to leave the library. However, everything is worth the sore muscle or the added hour in the lib.

One added bonus to trying to get my homework done early is Deeky and I have some big plans for the weekend. Were headed up to Buffalo to watch the Sabres feed a pumphouse sandy to the Toronto Maple Leafs. News around the locker room is that a few of the boys are going to the Columbus game happening at 7 pm tonight. I bet the Sabres throw around cinder blocks better than the leafs.

What is a doppelganger you may ask?

Hi there Fredonia hockey fans! Kurt signing in for today’s blog post.

It was a beautiful day in the village of Fredonia today; sun shining, birds chirping, larpers larping.

Some Fredonia hockey players may be mistaken for movie stars or other famous characters. In other words, quite a few of us have doppelgangers. What is a doppelganger you may ask? A doppelganger is defined by Mariam Webster himself as: an apparition, twin or double of a living person.

Here are just a few beauties to share with you:

Sunny Sunday...........

Hello there, it's Mackenzie McAvoy tuning into today's blog post.

I just would like to start off and say how beautiful it is out today finally, and I have to spend it all day in the library since this up coming week I have 3 test and some presentations. so hopefully everyone is outside enjoying the weather and also having a BBQ going on this lovely day.
Also for all you golf fans out there its an even better Sunday because the Masters is on and  this nice weather is really making me want to get out to the range and work on my stroke for this summer. I personally believe that the way Jordan Spieth is playing he isn't going to slow down, and will probably win the Masters, but anything could happen in golf.

So since the weather today is so nice I really hope its an indication of how nice the rest of the semester and summer is going to be. we only have a couple of more weeks left 4 weeks of classes and 1 week of final exams so these last weeks will fly by but its crunch time to do well in the classroom, and the nicer weather helps a bit too, and puts you in a better mood to get things done. always nice to wake up and see the sun shining and be at least 60 degrees out.
Anyways not too much exciting things are going on in my world except for going to the library, gym, and classes. But i must say I do make a pretty decent intramural goalie for ball hockey. So I mean coach if we ever in desperate need of someone to straps the pads on, il be the first one to put them on and be the Dominator for the Devils like Hasek was for the Sabres.
I hope everyone is enjoying their lovely Sunday with their friends and families and having a great BBQ on the deck. But for this guy, I'm gonna enjoy a nice Cranston dinner at the Marche' and get some homework and studying in. until next time.

Beaufiful day in Fredonia....

Finally beautiful here in Fredonia and everyone is coming out of the woodwork as the sun unthaws their bones. My day consisted of watching the boys throw some line in the river as its getting pretty close for fish to start running here up the streams. Never a dull time with Forsy, Kauf, and Whitey.

Now we are watching the Masters, and grillin out. I picked Jordan Spieth to win the Masters before the tourny started. Spieth is getting to Green Jacket today!

“Looking forward to hitting the streams”

Hello Bloggers, Zach White here for another blog post.  It’s crazy that the end of the school year is already rolling around.  I feel like a few days ago I was getting to campus to start my sophomore year.  The last month of school gets really hectic, but it’s always good to make sure you take a break from school.  I like to get away from my schoolwork by going fishing or golfing.  The next few weeks I am looking forward to getting out on some of the streams around the area to trout fish.  If the weather ever cooperates and stops raining, the trout fishing should be good when the water levels drop.  I’m sure a few of the guys will want to go maybe on an early Saturday or Sunday morning.  If were lucky maybe we will catch ourselves some dinner.

                                    Enjoy your weekend!

NHL season coming down to the wire for the last few trying to find playoff spots.....

Not too much has happened here on my end since my last blog post.

The NHL regular season is coming to a close with most teams having only two games left.  This year is really coming down to the end with 4 spots still up for grabs in the East and 2 spots in the West.  Both my favorite team, Detroit and my hometown team, Calgary are still trying to get into the post-season.

Baseball season has also started and I am not too sure if many guys on the team are paying attention but Harps has definitely taken notice and is trying to get in as many Mets games as he can watch.  Along with the regular lifts many of the guys are playing intramural sports to get in a little extra competition after the hockey season, among them are; basketball, floor hockey and soccer.

As far as school goes for myself, nothing much changes around my schedule with exams, homework and project being assigned at a steady pace, one leading into the next. I did however have to give a presentation in my CSIT class about the newest technology at IBM, which might not have been as boring if I had not had to follow Damo and his much more exciting presentation about technology in hockey.  Coming into my senior year next year I have the privilege of picking classes earlier than most for the upcoming fall semester, my time happens to be tomorrow morning and I was able to get a few good suggestions from JD before I had to decide.

Until next time,

Everybody likes Stick Day with the CCM rep..........

Hello all!!
Marcus Ortiz here yet again to update you guys on what the boys have been up to as of late.

Today was our first day of classes in almost 5 days and mine kicked off with an exam this morning in Accounting (prayers for Hunter Long and I on that one).   Leaving the room feeling as if we did alright it was time for the days workout where I met up with the Swedes, Frankie, Garrett, Jamie, and Chris to get our pump in for the day. Leaving the gym struggling to walk, we proceeded to our Stick Day and meeting with the representative from CCM hockey company. After looking through all of the options and making our selections on every detail of our individual sticks next year we left for dinner and to study.

We are coming up on a month left in the school year, it's time for all the boys to buckle down on our schoolwork. Till next time!!!

Kauf here,

Returning to the FSU hockey blog for my 4th installment of the year! J-Term has finally wrapped up and the boys are in preparation for SUNYAC play once again as we make our playoff push starting this weekend in Cortland and Oswego, much progress has been made throughout January but in saying that much work still must be done. This also means that our Spring semester has began which seems to fly by quicker each year as the freshman will soon find out. Can't wait to see what the next month and a bit has in store for us as a hockey club!

Cheers,
Kauf

Kickball is harder than it looks.......

Bonjour blog world!

Well Easter is approaching and if feels like it's been way too long since I've touched the ice! Off season training has been going very well and everyone is determined and working hard in the gym.
We had are first activity on Monday and we played kickball. My team took the victory but I also discovered that I can't kick a ball to save my life. Might of had to do with Hunters pitching skills but who knows.

I hear there are only 5 or 6 weeks left of classes and I can only imagine how fast they will fly by. I'll be hitting the books harder to finish with the best grades possible! Well I need to get back to my Buff chicken zonie and finish up my French homework.

Take care all,

McDavid commits to Fredonia.......and other April Fool's Day pranks.....

Hello all!!

Marcus Ortiz checking in for yet another blog post here for the Fredonia Hockey blog.

Hopefully none of you folks out there got pranked too bad today. All of the boys were walking around today with their heads on a swivel what with all of our pranksters feeling as if today was their Christmas. Today was a lazy day, upon awakening at 11am this morning, my morning started off with a prank from Jerry Wynia. After shaking off the aftermath of those shenanigans I resumed my day of classes, culminating in an intense workout with Jamie Young, Frank Hart, and Chris Eiserman followed by a light cardio session with Wynia.

Then I proceeded to head over to watch the baseball and softball games of the day as both teams won, with the softball team pulling out a win in the bottom of the last inning with 2 outs in dramatic fashion. When that portion of my day concluded I headed to my night class with Damien K. and finished my day off with some homework and a little X Box challenge with Nick Harper and Damien. We are all enjoying our off-season and workouts and are looking forward to getting back at it again in the fall.

Till next time Have a Happy Easter!!
