Mom comes in to help Melky shop.......

Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

Cory here getting the nod for another blog post late in 2014. The boys and myself are just getting back from a week long Thanksgiving break where we could re-charge the batteries and spend some time with family and friends. With a quick two and a half week stretch coming up before Christmas it is important that we have a great end to the first half and that starts Tuesday when the Purple Soaring Eagles of Elmira travel to the Steele Hall. Currently my pals Jared and Hunter as well as myself are collecting our thoughts here at 26 Forest Street, watching college football on this Saturday evening. On another note my Mother came in for a visit today and she helped me complete my holiday shopping which is great because usually I leave it until Christmas Eve. Well until next time have a safe and fun holiday and I will be back in the new year!!

Damo surprizes the family with a visit home to Calgary.........

Hi everyone Damien Kulynych signing in for another blog post.

Just wanted to say Happy American Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying it!

I recently got back from a nice little visit home in Calgary. It was pretty special because
My little brother Jaiden, me, my girlfriend Carleigh and my little sister Mika
my grandparents, little brother and sister had no idea I was coming home. When I walked in the door last Saturday night it was awesome to see their reactions! I'm pretty sure my Grandma shed some tears and the kids were screaming! It was the first time I have been back since coming to Fredonia in late August, so it was quite a while since I have seen my family and friends. It was nice to see my family, friends and girlfriend.

Although it was a short break I am more than ready to get back on the ice with the guys. Yesterday we had a great first practice back, we didn't skip a beat and look to build on it today with a 9 AM practice. Since our game last Friday got canceled the boys are itching for some game action, every one is looking forward to Tuesday when Elmira comes to Steele Hall!

Hope to see everyone there! Well, time to hit the ice! Thanks for reading, until next time bloggers.

“TRIATHLON!" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everybody!
Marcus Andersson here today and I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. My teammates and I have now returned to Fredonia after the Thanksgiving-break. On campus there is not much going on, but on the ice there is full speed as always. With the next game only four days away, we have decided to get that win.
My teammate and my roommate #9 Oskar Gerhardson likes to take photos of me when I’m asleep and then upload it on this blog… I think now is a great time for me to tell something about Oskar. Therefore, I can now reveal to the world that Oskar is one of the worst sleep-talkers I have ever met. It’s always interesting to hear what he has to say. My favorite so far comes from this fall, the night before the triathlon we had with the team. Before he goes to bed that night, Oskar tells me that he is very worried about the triathlon.

I’m still awake but Oskar is asleep. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Oskar screams – believe me, he screams – with a terrified voice: “TRIATHLON! “ I think he jokes around and I laugh and look at him. He is sweaty but still asleep…
Since this is my first year in America I celebrated my very first thanksgiving yesterday. I didn’t really know what to expect but it was a very positive experience.
This year, I’m thankful for living with a roommate who reveals his secrets at night.
I’m thankful for playing on a hockey team with a great group of people.
I’m thankful for seeing you all in Steele Hall 7 pm on Tuesday to help us get that win!
Thank you for reading!

Happy Birthday Matt Cessna....thanks for the blog entry.......

Hello Everyone,

I can't believe how fast the time has passed since I have gotten here. There is already snow everywhere and we are playing our 7th game tomorrow. But it has been such a blast and I have learned so much from the guys and it has helped very much. We have a great group of guys and we are finally starting to click as a unit. We are ready to win and have a great rest of the season. Hopefully the snow doesn't cancel the game tomorrow against Buffalo State because the team and I all want our first SUNYAC win.

      Thanks for Reading,

           Matt Cessna

I must say i believe the mental aspect of hockey is huge. What really helps me is when I have my family in the stands watching the boys play. My mom  as well as my girlfriend have been a troopers for a lot of years and its been no different since I chose to come to Fredonia. My mom has only missed a couple games so far this year, and lets just say it didn't feel the same without her there. Hopefully they are able to make it up for tomorrows game as it seems there is a blizzard coming into town here in Freddy. I'm hoping it holds off so they have suffice driving conditions. Well I'm off to watch another Sens victory. Keep it real and well talk tomorrow after the big game.

Danny challenges Oskar for Call of Duty Championship.......

Hi everybody, Daniel here again!
Freshman, Oskar Gerhardson in his dorm room.
The past day has been filled with snow so school decided to close down, letting us have a day off from school work. Not much has been done today, breakfast at Cranston then a walk over to get a quick workout in the gym before our early practice.
Tonight is all about showing Oskar who’s the best on Call of Duty!
Hopefully we get another snow day tomorrow and that the snow stops later that night so Buffalo State can come down and play us on Friday for “The battle of the lake”.
That's all for me.  Until next time,

The boys are 'frequent travelers'...........

Hi there Bloggers, Jamie Young checking in for again this year!!

Its been a hard fought and action packed past couple of weeks since I have had a post. It all started on Halloween when I got the privilege to play in my first NCAA and SUNYAC hockey game against the Cortland Red Dragons. It sure was a special night for me having my family in town for that weekend to see me play!

The boys have turned into some frequent travelers the past couple of weekends making stops in towns like Alexandria Bay, Canton, Potsdam, and Plattsburgh as we have spent the past two weekends on the road. Its not so bad playing on the road when you get to compete in two brand new rinks and one that could hold almost 3,000 people on a good night! The boys are on a good track right now; every one in the dressing room is competing, working hard, and getting better every day in practice and its showing during games. It's still early in the season so all the boys are still very optimistic about where we can be in February; we all know the pieces to the puzzle are there, we just need to put them together as a group of brothers for 60 minuets every night!

With Thanksgiving around the corner that means a nice little break where I can spend some time with my family. I have to give my little brother, Joey, and birthday shout out. On November 21, he will be 18 years old! I have to wish him luck on his upcoming high school hockey season with Gilmour Academy this winter and even more luck on his upcoming decision of where he will be going to college next year.

Well Bloggers, until next time, stay warm and be safe out on those roads!!

Oskar excited where we are heading....... (check out the selfie with Sandy)

Hey everybody, Oskar Gerhardson signing in again.
We are all back in Fredonia after a road trip to the north country where we battled hard this weekend but unfortunately we only got 1 point. Even though the result wasn't what we wanted, some good things came out of this weekend. Our group is getting closer every day, we just have to keep working hard and good things will come to us. I believe in this group and I am sure we will get on the winning track.
After playing Plattsburgh on Saturday night, a 7 hour bus trip waited to get us home. A few good movies and some sleep got us through the night and at around 5:00 AM on Sunday morning we finally got to get into our own beds again. Waking up at 10:30 on Sunday morning, my roommate and fellow Swede, Marcus asked if I wanted to come to the library. Tired I turned him down and decided to go and get some breakfast first. A decision I was pretty happy about when I met Marcus later and he told me that the library wasn’t open when he got there and he had to sit outside and study for an hour before they opened.
The snow is falling in Fredonia and I couldn’t be happier.  I am tired of the windy and boring fall after the colorful leaves have fallen. I am and looking forward to the snowy winter that I heard Fredonia offers. I think there is something special about the snow whitening the landscape around us. Finally I get to bring my winter jacket and boots out of the closet, preparing for a long winter filled with hockey.
Thanksgiving is also around the corner and it will be a nice break from school. I am looking forward to spend some time with my girlfriend and her family in Scranton, PA. But first we got a game to take care of.  On Friday night we are going to take our first SUNYAC win of the season against Buffalo state. See you there!

“Sandy” is a guy who is full of energy and he is always on the run. So when he took a nap and actually sat still for a few minutes I´d thought that it would be a great opportunity for me to take a selfie with him, I am pretty happy with the result actually
Until next time,

Everything is starting to get ramped up..........

Hello all,

It's Kurt Gottschalk #6 signing in for my third blog post of the year.   Its been pretty  busy these past few weeks at school as the semester is coming to its final stretch. As everything is starting to ramp up these last few weeks has made time fly. This past  week I was pretty busy with school, I had three exams that consisted of Geology, Accounting and Macroeconomics. Along with that I had a few Computer Science assignments to complete and a few short story history novels to read. Its that time of year where you have to stay ahead with your studies or you will fall behind.

Aside from school this weekend we had our big trip to Potsdam and Plattsburgh up in the Northern Country. On Friday we played against Potsdam and ended up in a 4-4 tie.Yesterday we lost against Plattsburgh in a 4-1 loss. Every game we play I find our team is getting stronger and stronger building a solid chemistry. I think we have a lot of potential as a team and we are only going to get better as a unit. This upcoming week we have Buffalo State then we are off for the American Thanksgiving break.

Just wanted to wish my teammate Darren Trebes a Happy Belated Birthday.

Till next time,

Thanksgiving is coming up........

Hello everyone Darrin Trebes for the blog today. It has been a long week getting ready for the road trip up to Potsdam and Plattsburgh. Thanksgiving is coming up as teachers are getting in their second exams of the semester before we head back home. It is important to keep up on the homework and tests with the road trips because once you’re behind it is hard to catch up with a heavy travel schedule this year.

It is always a great feeling having an amazing week of practice as it launches us into a significant weekend for SUNYAC games. Practice makes perfect as we will try to come back with a big 4 points on the weekend. It is important for us to have a fast start in the beginning of the season because that allows momentum to start early in the season compared to later in the season. It feels like it was just yesterday that I arrived on campus for the start of captain skates and here we are now as there are only a few weeks left in the fall semester. Hope you all have a fun weekend and enjoy this winter weather, until next time.

Traveling to Potsdam to take on the Bears......

Today we are traveling to Potsdam to take on the Bears, and then the Cardinals of Plattsburgh. This is a second weekend in a row we a traveling to the north country. Today's bus trip consist of a couple movies and some good laughs from Whitey and Hunter Long. The name we have been calling are team is "road warriors". This name works well for us because we are traveling 7 hours to go to battle. The boys are enjoying the first snowfall of the year, and getting ready for 2 big SUNYAC games. The quote of the day "The only easy day was yesterday".

ON OUR WAY TO NORTH COUNTRY!!!!

Hello there folks.  This is Mackenzie McAvoy tuning in for today's edition of the blog.

Today is a very exciting day as the boys are heading to North Country to take on Potsdam and Plattsburgh. Even better, it is  starting to feel a lot like Christmas around here, since today is the first day of snow fall we have had in Fredonia.

The past couple weeks have flown by since we have been to the North Country twice in the past two weeks, and that consist of only 3 day practice weeks. It feels like we're young again playing minor hockey, missing school to go on road trips and stay in hotels, minus playing mini sticks in the hallways of the hotel.

Today for us will consist of a long bus trip up to Potsdam with a lot of movies along the way. Everyone is very excited to get on the bus and head up there and play on Friday. Nothing better to start the weekend with a road trip with 25 of your best friends. We have been preparing for Friday night all week with 3 days of intense practices, and tomorrow we will get on the ice for a little
pre-game skate and hit the ice Friday night in Potsdam.

Anyways I better get back to packing all my stuff and getting ready for this road trip. I hope you all tune into our game Friday night in Potsdam. Have a good weekend and until next time.....

Whitey enjoys staying in Alex Bay and Bonnie Castle...........

Hello bloggers, Zach White checking in here for another post

This past weekend was a little out of the ordinary for what the team is used to on a normal road weekend.  We had two away games at Canton, however we were unable to stay in the Town of Canton so we stayed about an hour away in Alexandria Bay.  For those of you that don’t know Alexandria Bay is a beautiful summer vacation spot for many New Yorkers.   However, for us staying there at this time of year we got to see the other side of Alex Bay.  In the fall and winter Alex Bay is like a ghost town with very few people there and many restaurants and attractions were closed for the season. We happened to be staying at a nice waterfront hotel on the St. Lawrence Seaway, with a perfect view of Bonnie Castle out of our balcony.  Along with the new experience for the team staying in Alexandria Bay, I thought we had a solid weekend in terms of hockey.  Friday night we fought back from 4 goals down to tie and Saturday we played a steady game and came out with a 3 to 2 win.  All together I thought it was a good experience weekend for the team, we showed a glimpse of what this group can do when everything comes together.  We plan to bring this well gained experience with us this upcoming weekend when we go up to the north-country for two big battles.

Until next time, Enjoy your week
