Now that I'm a junior here at Fredonia the time is coming up quickly for me to think about my plans for after I graduate. I took a practice Law school admissions test a couple weeks ago and got a 157. To get into a higher-end law school I'd like to get my score up to about a 165-67 (it's out of 180, but no one gets that). With a 165 I could more than likely get into a a school like the University of Michigan which would obviously be a very good option and it would also put me back closer to home. Ann Arbor, Michigan is only about an hour and change from my parents home in Rochester, Michigan, so going there would give me an opportunity to be close to family while I attend law school. One of my other top choices is the University of Chicago Law, which also has a great program but will be tough to get into. There seems to be a lot of jobs in that area, at least for the time being, as many of my high school friends are living or have received job offers in Chicago. It would be nice to live in a big city for a few years after living the small town life in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and here in Fredonia the past 5 years. Either way, I have to take the LSAT before I can even apply anywhere, and I'm planning on doing that next June; realistically I have about 8 months worth of studying left to get 7-8 more questions right than I did on the practice run. I'm definitely excited to head off to law school in the near future, and it will be interesting to see where I end up come Fall 2013.
