Team Damo doubles up on Team Young in Kickball.......

Well early this Tuesday morning the seasons decided that winter wasn't over yet and it is snowing once again here in Fredonia.  I'm a little disappointed as the high in Calgary today is 17 degrees (63 Fahrenheit).

Although the weather isn't working out in our favor here I was able to get in a couple rounds of golf in South Carolina with Wilky and Young over Spring Break so maybe the memories of warmer weather can get me through this cold spell.

With less than 2 months remaining in the semester all the boys are working hard in their classes and hard in the gym, so its not unusual to run into someone on the team either in the library or getting in a lift.  With all of us working hard we are making sure to let off a little steam and have some fun, we decided to get together yesterday and play a quick game of kick ball.  The game started with a scoreless first, but it quickly turned around with Team Damo doubling up on Team Young  8-4, unfortunately I came out on the losing end.

With advising week this week I need to pick out my classes for next semester.

Until next time

Flags spending time in Dentist chair over Spring Break.....

There hasn't been a whole lot of school for me in the last couple weeks.  It was March break two weeks ago and I was lucky enough to go home to spend time with my family and friends.  When I went home I had a dentist appointment where I would soon realize I needed to get my wisdom teeth out.  Fortunately enough for me they were able to schedule me in the following week.  I basically missed two complete weeks of school and although it was nice to have that break I am now seeing the tale end of it.  This week will be a long week for me as I get back up on my assignments.  As well as assignments I have two exams.  Even though hockey season is over the hockey players are still continuously busy with school.  Staying on top of assignments will be a huge part in staying ahead in my classes and will come in hand when later on in the semester it is nice out and instead of having to do homework I can go and experience the day.

Until next time folks, enjoy and keep staying tuned in.

Wilky has grinding week upon return from Break..........

Hey there folks!

Just checking in for another addition of the blog.

Not too much going on, on this wonderful Sunday in the village of Fredonia. But I'm definitely not complaining, the sun is out and it's finally starting to warm up, I think. We just finished our first week back after Spring Break and it was a very hectic and busy one. I had to take 3 exams, 2 quizzes, and write 1 paper, so I am very content with just relaxing on the couch today.

Over the past few days the boys have been getting together to watch the NCAA Div. I Hockey Tournament. This is some of the best hockey that is played all year at any level.  It's fast, skilled and always exciting to watch. All of us also have friends playing in the tournament so it's pretty cool to get to watch them on the national stage.

Well that's all for me today, until next time! Ryan Wilkinson #25

After break it's time to get back to th books........

Kauf here,

Blogging the first Saturday back after Spring Break. Finally had a chance to catch up with all the boys today, with most guys heading home for the past week to hangout with family and friends while others were in search of the sun. With not many weeks left in school you can definitely feel the pressure and work loads adding up as we approach finals; if you head to the library at anytime during the week you'll be guaranteed to find several of the guys deep into books. But that ends it for my week of deadlines and it's time to relax!

Cheers,

Marcus gets us up-to-date.......

Hello everyone, #11 here with today’s Fredonia report!
After a few weeks with a lot of sit-ups and biceps curls here and there, in preparation for spring break on the beach, all the guys are now back on tough workout schedules. Hours are spent in the gym for heavy lifts. The postseason rest is now over.
The toughest part of the year as a hockey-player just began, since the ice was removed from the rink the other day, as you can see in the photo. It’s now a very long time until we’ll see the ice again, we put in a lot of hard work in the gym and we know that working out is our new daily routine, and we have to see other players play playoff hockey even though we aren’t.
At the same time, it’s one of the nicest parts of the year to be a Fredonia resident. The snow is melting, the spring is coming. All the guys on the team seem to be rested and with a lot of energy. We don’t have too many weeks left of the semester, and we can all feel it.
It’s spring and I can feel the hopefulness in the air. At the same time, it’s tough hockey wise. The clash between the two always takes place around the end of March, when the hockey season – and the winter – just ended. It’s hard to know exactly how to feel. It is both the toughest and the easiest part of the year.
Now I’m going out for a run in the nice weather and will then hit the gym. So will many other Fredonia hockey players do – we all know that for sure. We just don’t know if we should do it with a smile or not.
Thank you for reading!

Boys are headed to Erie to see McDavid in playoffs..........

Hey everyone!

Nick Harper here again for another blog post. Now that Spring Break has come to an end, it feels like we are in the homestretch of this school year. Can't say I was disappointed to see that almost all of the snow melted here in Fredonia unlike in Syracuse where our whole deck was still covered with snow. It's also nice having some sunshine here where just today, teammate Damien Kulynych and I got a solid agility workout outside and also got a chance to play some basketball. In two weeks for Easter weekend, Damien is coming to my hometown Baldwinsville which is a great place with even greater people. I'm looking forward to showing him around and hanging out with him.

It's that time of year, NCAA's March Madness as the Sweet Sixteen teams will play at the end of the week. By the way my bracket is looking, you can see that I'm much more of a hockey fan than a basketball fan due to my lack of success. However, my Final Four teams are still in the tournament. I have Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville, and Duke as the final teams with my favorite college team Duke winning it all. (Sorry, Syracuse fans!)

This Friday, some of the boys and I are thinking about heading out to Erie, Pennsylvania to see the OHL teams Erie Otters and Sarnia Sting play in the first round of their playoffs. It'll be exciting seeing future NHL star Connor McDavid playing in playoff form!

A great Break kicks off a big 7 weeks remaining ......

Hey there hockey fans!!

Jamie Young checking in for the first blog post of the “springtime.” My Spring Break was great; I had the opportunity to go down to Myrtle Beach to play some golf and soak up some sun with Wilky and Bourney. I will tell you now, I don’t think you will be seeing any of us on the PGA tour anytime soon but we did have a whole lot of fun!!

The springtime brings a lot to the team. The second half of this semester brings the start of next season’s preparation. Everyone has had time to digest the positives and negatives of this past season and what needs to be improved on for next. All the boys are excited to get into the weight room and start making strides towards next fall. As a team we are going to be spending a lot of time together improving our togetherness. A team that sticks together, wins together!!

With all the snow melting, I hope everyone has a great start to their spring!!

Until next time,

Spring Break starts tomorrow......

Hey everyone!

Nick Harper here checking in for another blog post. I think I can speak for everyone saying that this week can't end fast enough as we are all waiting eagerly for spring break to start. Although the weather has been warming up here in Fredonia, (close to 40 degrees!) everyone is getting sick of the cold and snow and is looking forward for some warm sunshine. Many of the boys are heading south for spring break to relax on the beach and get a round or two of golf in. As for myself, I am heading down to San Antonio, Texas to see my brother John who serves in the United States Air Force. I'm very excited to go down there and see him, and to see his base and everything. Hey you never know, maybe he'll convince me to join the military after school just like fellow goaltender Chris Eiserman is!

I would also like to give a shout out to John and his new fiancĂ©e Casey Chiesa who announced their wedding date July 25th! Here's a fun fact, Casey was the goaltender for the Fredonia Women's lacrosse team from 2010-2013 and there's a big poster of her outside University Stadium. Congrats guys and I'll see you tomorrow Johnny!

Thanks for reading!

...beautiful day today here in Fredonia...

Hi everybody, it is #18 here again.
It have been a beautiful day today here in Fredonia with temperatures above the freezing point. We are finally seeing some grass peeking forward from under the sheet of ice. The spring is officially here!
It is the final days of school before spring break and like every year the professors’ pile up all assignments to be due on the same day. The only positive thing about this is that there will be some time to relax and recover during break.
Since my last post our season ended and it has been a great experience and I cannot wait for next season to start. On top of this it has been the worst or should I say coldest weather I have ever experienced… but at least now, in March, it started to change to springtime. Hopefully in my next post it will be summer here on campus!
Have a great day all fans out there,

The cold has broken..............

Hi there Fredonia fans!!

Well, the clocks have turned, the cold has broken, and hopefully we are on our way into spring finally after a long cold winter!!

The season has ended since the last time I posted. It was a great freshmen year for myself getting a lot of experience on and off the ice. I just want to thank the seniors for being along my side the entire way through. I want to congratulate them on a four year career and good luck in all their future endeavors!!

This week is our last week of classes before spring break. It is going to be a much needed break from class for a lot of the boys. Guys are going all over the place for the week. Myself though, I will be heading to Myrtle Beach for a few days of sun and golf with Wilky and Bourney. It would be a fun few days of sun and lost golf balls!!

Well fans, as always, thanks for reading and enjoy the spring like weather now were finally out of the freezing temps.

It's a beautiful day here in Fredonia...........

Hey everybody !

It's a beautiful day here in Fredonia, the sun is shining and we have some very welcomed plus degrees. Walking outside this morning, I had dressed to warm which was a pleasant change since the last month has been freezing.

Friday night we had our banquet, where a few awards where given out and we honored the seniors. I want to send a big thank you to all of the seniors. The way you have taken care of us freshmen has been outstanding. Showing and learning us how to be student athletes, always leading by a great example. This will be something that we take with us and pass on to the incoming freshmen the coming years. It has been a pleasure to be on your team and I wish you all the best whatever you do in the future.

On a Sunday like this schoolwork is calling. Two mid-terms this upcoming week before we have Spring Break and I take off to warmer places. Thanks for reading and take care everybody !

Banquet day.........

Hey there hockey fans its #6 Kurt Gottschalk in for today's blog post. It's that time of year when teams are wrapping up their hockey seasons and focusing on school and/or dusting off the golf clubs to get ready for golf season.

As Mac McAvoy noted in his post earlier, our end of the year banquet is tonight so it will be a good chance to see all the guys together one last time as the seniors give their speeches to the players and coaching staff.

It's a sad time when you know your not going to be with the seniors next year. I'd like to take this opportunity to address the seniors Darren, Melky, Winny, Juice and Cappy, it's been a pleasure and a privilege to play with you guys. Us younger guys appreciate what you've done for us on and off the ice and we all want to thank you for that.

On another note I have a finance quiz coming up so I better get back to studying.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY.............

HAPPY WEDNESDAY

Hello folks! Its Mackenzie McAvoy tuning in, to which I believe, is my last blog post of the year. This year has just flown by so fast for me, and I can’t believe our season is already over, and spring break is just a week and a half away.

Although the season is over, thankfully the ice is still available for us players to go on and do whatever we want to, and with just finishing my midterms it was nice to get away from the library and strap the skates on for an hour and shoot pucks. And also to add to that, some of the boys like me don’t mind on strapping on the goalie gear so the guys have someone to shoot on.

Other than the season being over and now having more time for school work, it has been very quiet around Fredonia, and on campus. The weather yesterday was plus 4 Celsius which means it’s starting to get a bit warmer out and summers around the corner, in which i cannot wait to get the golfing sticks out that’s for sure.

Well this Friday we are having our banquet for the end of the season. We get to have meal and hear our seniors say their farewell to us younger players and to the entire coaching staff. It’s very sad to see close friends go and move on in their life. So I want to take this opportunity so say thank you to our senior class for making these 2 years at Fredonia memorable, and teaching me the ropes, and showing me how to be a student athlete and manage doing both. I definitely will not forget all the things they have done for me.

Well I better get back to studying, and finish off some homework here, hope everyone is having a great Wednesday, and also as a great year.

Until next time,

...Spring Break couldn’t come fast enough...

Hello again bloggers,

Zach White here for another rep in the blog.  I don’t know about everyone else but Spring Break couldn’t come fast enough for me.  This has been a long winter here in Fredonia, not to mention the past few weeks that have had many days below zero.  So this break will be a long needed one as roommate, Erik Moberg and I will be heading to Clearwater Beach, Florida for the week to stay with my grandparents.

It will definitely be nice being able to sit on the beach and not worry about shoveling the driveway or having to do any school work.  However, this week I will have my work cut out for me with 3 exams.

That’s it for today stay warm.

a big week of mid terms and papers.......

Hello everyone,

Currently sitting in the library with some academic weapons Zach White and
John Defeo AKA “Donnie Slugga” these guys are studying Quantum Physics and it all
looks like gibberish to me. Ill stick to my Sport Manager 1 page paper, and call it a
day.

Couple big weeks coming up for me academically, mid terms are approaching
and I learned that if you do well on your mid-terms the 2nd half of the semester is a
lot easier to handle. Another big event coming up is my shoulder surgery March 16th
over Spring Break, this will be my 2nd shoulder surgery in 4 years, but looking on the
bright side at least I am getting it fixed now after the season, rather than it
happening the beginning of my senior year or something like that so in reality the
timing is perfect. The only down side is golf season will be non existent, ill have to
practice my short game or putting while I am on the IR. Hopefully I can still practice
putting with one hand, and ill become Mr. Drano around the cup about 5 ft and in. Ill
be more than ready to lace em up come next October.

Big shouts to the seniors, it was an honor to play with ya, and , it should have ended
on a better note.
