I wasn't able to spend my spring break in an exotic place.....

Hi All,

Unfortunately, break has come to an end. I wasn't able to spend my spring break in an exotic place, instead I made my way over to Boston, Massachusetts. I was able to see a ton of friends I had made while playing juniors there a few years ago, spend a lot of time downtown and just relax with nothing to do. It was the perfect recharge of the battery to push through the month and a half left in my Freshman year. It's crazy how time flies.

Till next time,

HOME STRETCH......

Hello everyone this is junior forward Mackenzie McAvoy tuning into today's blog.

Its been very busy week so far since we just got back from spring break. I have so many test, presentations, and also homework that I have due this week in which I'll be spending most of my time in the library. That being said Spring Break for myself was such a fun time and a well deserved break from hard work, and also to get away form this cold weather.

For my spring break I went to California and stayed with Luke Rivera's family for the week. Luke is a freshmen, forward here at Fredonia. We had such a great time out in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Palm Springs. We also went down to Huntington Beach which is Surf City, USA. I must say it would be awesome to live out there on a daily basis, since you have warmth and sunshine almost everyday.

I just want to say thank you to Luke's entire family and friends for such a great experience and also hospitality, I appreciate it more than you know. Also thank you for showing me a great time and experience I will never forget and lastly, thank you for showing me where I'm going to live when I'm older.

The picture down below here is the boys at Huntington Beach, which we got to see a couple people surf, and also walk around and spent the afternoon there and had a great time.

Till next time,

Spring break in a nutshell......

Spring break in a nutshell

The weather in northeastern PA was unbelievable last week. With an average temp in the 60's and Little to no rain made it perfect golf weather. It is very exciting to see this warm weather coming and to bring out the shorts and sunglasses. That along with the march madness on TV made spring break a very leisurely break. But in midst of school work piling up, a week of leisure can't come at a better time.

What a fantastic ride it was......

It's a little different feeling now that hockey is over and I know that I will not be coming back next year.  I seem to have a lot more free time on my hands where I am able to get more work done so that is a positive.  The past three years have been an experience of a lifetime and something I will never forget.  I can't wait to follow the Blue Devils and watch them succeed in the future.
Take care and what a fantastic ride it was.

Taylor Bourne checks in from the pros......facing off against Wilky tomorrow!

I am writing this blog from Huntsville Alabama,  I have gotten the opportunity to play with the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL.  I have been in Huntsville for two weeks now and played three games, one against Mississippi and two against the top ranked team Peoria.  It has been a great experience and I am really enjoying my time here.  It has been a bit of an adjustment period being without the guys that I have spent the last 4 years with but it is a great group of guys here in Huntsville as well.  We are on the road against Mississippi again tomorrow and my roommate, teammate and captain Ryan Wilkinson is playing with them right now, it is going to be different not seeing him wearing the blue and white with me that we have worn the last 4 years.  I am excited about the opportunity that both of us have gotten but hopefully I get the upper hand tomorrow night.  It is different being away from Fredonia for the first time in a long time, but I am hoping I can stick around and make a run in the playoffs here.

Can't wait to get going....

Hey everyone,
So this week we had our "end of the year recap/start of the new year goals" meeting. We got to hear about our two new captains, Hunter Long and Jamie Young, two guys that have been huge attributes and leaders on and off the ice. We talked about what it's going to take next year to be a winning team and how we are going to have fun doing it through the process.
Can't wait to already get the next year started because I know how hard we are all working already and it'll pay off come October. I'm looking forward to also get to meet the new players coming in that will be part of the family and also be able to enjoy what it's like to put on the Fredonia jersey. So now we all are working hard in the class rooms, in the gym, and on the ice. Getting prepared to win.

Pray that we get star varsity player Ian Helps on our IM Hoop team.....

Hey Blue Devil fans, Ben Casale here checking in for another blog.

If you didn't know already a lot of the boys from the team are playing in an intramural basketball
league here at Fredonia. Right now we're 1 and 4 but I feel like our real potential has yet to be
seen. We are one more piece away from making a run for the championship.

As long as we get star varsity player Ian Helps on our team for the remainder of the season I don’t see
why our team can't string together wins, especially with head coach Nick Harper leading us to
victory. What we lack in talent we make up with our heart.

Anyways the boys get a nice break this weekend from games and we should be well rested. Wish us luck for our next game, and also pray Ian will play with us.

Yours truly #19 Ben Casale

Its almost spring break!

Sammy here again on the blog! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day today here in Fredonia. Its been so nice the last few days and has really been a great atmosphere here around campus. I can't help but notice the difference in students walking around in great weather. Its almost spring break! My plans are to go home to Michigan to visit my family for the break. I am very excited. A lot of the fellas have trips planned and i just want to let everyone know to travel safe and have fun! Each day we are getting better and better as a team preparing in the off season. Not having the outcome we wanted this past season has really opened eyes to figure out how we can fix it. Well I have to get back to studying now! Until next time.

Bogs here back on the blog train.

G'day folks,

Bogs here back on the blog train. With the season over and all the boys have been hitting gym and the books hard.

Bourney and Slicky left Fred for a while to go play professional hockey so that's pretty gravy. Last weekend all the boys got together to watch Bourney play his first pro game, that was fun.

Anyways, that's all I got for y'all

Have a good one,

Bogs

We were fortunate enough to be able to watch Taylor's first professional hockey game....

Hey everyone!

So the all the boys have wrapped up their season except two of our leading seniors; Taylor Bourne and Ryan Wilkinson who have both signed contracts in the SPHL. I could tell from the first time I stepped on the ice with these guys they were the real deal! Ryan held the 'C' all year and led his team better than anyone knows on and off the ice. Taylor has been one of my best friends all year pushing me to stay positive and stay on track doing what I do best. We were fortunate enough to be able to watch Taylor's first professional hockey game this past weekend. Taylor fit right in with the fast physical play contributing in Huntsville Havoc's 22nd win of the year.

We look forward as family to continue supporting two Blue Devils who had such a huge impact on each and everyone of us!

Good luck to Taylor Bourne and Ryan Wilkinson as they pursue their dreams of playing professional hockey!

Hi Blue Devils fans, #15 Zach Pease checking in with you once again

Since the season being done, for me its all about getting better as a person and doing things right. I’m looking forward to proving a lot of people wrong next year and to turn a lot of heads.

Good luck to the seniors moving on and thanks for setting the bar high in the classroom and on the ice. Also congratulations to seniors and captains Taylor Bourne and Ryan Wilkinson for signing a professional contract.

Until next time

All my time has been dedicated to Physics.....

Hey Blue Devil fans, Ben Casale here checking in for my first blog of the offseason.

I want to start off by thanking the seniors for making my freshman year a memorable one and
making the transition from juniors to college a little bit easier.  That being said since the end of the season all my time has been dedicated to Physics. I have a big test coming up tomorrow and hopefully with a little luck I can kick off the weekend right with a good grade.

Finally, I'd like to congratulate Taylor Bourne on signing his first pro contract in the SPHL. Well
deserved and it couldn’t have happened to a better guy.

Well I have to get back to studying, say a prayer for me tomorrow, and I'll catch you next time Blue
Devil fans.

We have a great group of guys that are focused.....

Hey everyone,

Dan Mainello checking in here again for another blog. Well my first NCAA hockey season is officially in the books. It didn't end the way we all hoped for, but to be honest I'm proud of the guys. We are a very young team, 16 freshmen to be exact. Already looking forward to next season, we have a great group of guys that are focused and always ready to work hard!

I would like to thank the seniors, Jeffy, Danny, Kauf, Slick, Bourney, and Whitie. Its hard to realize that I won't be able to look around the locker room and see you guys next year. You guys had a huge part in producing the success in our team this year. You truly will be missed.

On a side note, even though the season is over I still find myself battling pretty hard, not on the ice but with the books. You would think now that practices are over I would have a little more free time, but physics has managed to stop that. I have my first big test on Friday so wish me some luck!

Blog post coming from our great 309 Hendrix Hall Common Room..........

Hey everyone!

Nick Harper here with another blog post in our great 309 Hendrix Hall Common Room. First off I would just like to say congratulations to all the seniors who have completed their NCAA College Hockey careers. Jeffy, Danny, Whitey, Kauf, Bourney, and Slick, I learned a lot from you guys and I am sure going to miss you all and wish you the best of luck in the future. That being said, they're not leaving quite yet so although it's very sad hockey is over, we got to enjoy these last couple months together.

I would also like to wish forward assistant captain Taylor Bourne best of luck as he went off to Huntsville, Alabama as he starts his pro career off in the SPHL. I'd like to say I helped him along the way with the countless times I stopped him in our US/Canada shootouts and our pre-game handshakes. Taylor I got to find a way to still give you that handshake maybe I'll send you a video before each of your games.

Lastly, the weather here in Fredonia has been a tease with a 60 degree day then following up with a 30 degree day with the wind blowing hard. Hopefully it's just a short time away until that 60 degree weather comes back and is here to stay. That's all from me today so I hope you all have a good rest of your week!
